INCT GmbH
Cam and worm grinding applications require high-precision multi-axis coordination, stable motion control, and flexible process customization. Traditional closed CNC platforms often increase system cost and limit engineering flexibility, especially for specialized grinding processes.
This project focuses on an open and cost-effective five-axis system solution provided by INCT, supporting precise cam and worm grinding while maintaining system openness and competitive cost.
Cam and worm grinding requires automatic detection of complex profiles and accurate start positions to ensure process consistency.
Different cam and worm geometries demand application-specific grinding logic and motion coordination beyond standard CNC functions.
Conventional proprietary CNC systems increase overall system cost and limit secondary development and customization.
To address these challenges, INCT provided an open five-axis grinding system solution integrating control, drive, and application-level engineering.
The solution includes:
Providing stable and precise multi-axis motion control for grinding applications.
Serving as the system control platform for motion execution and process management.
Supporting synchronized five-axis motion, customized grinding logic, and open system integration.
The open architecture enables secondary development and simplifies integration of customized cam and worm grinding processes.
The implemented INCT solution achieved the following performance indicators:
🚀 Maximum acceleration of 1 G on X, Y, and Z axes
🚀 XY axis positioning accuracy of ±0.004 mm / 1000 mm
🚀 Repeatability of ±0.003 mm
These results support stable and precise five-axis grinding performance.
The INCT platform reduces system cost compared to traditional closed CNC solutions while maintaining required precision.
In-house cam grinding software and customized post-processors support complex grinding applications.
RTCP-enabled remote monitoring supports process visualization, diagnostics, and service efficiency.
